Noritz entered the China market in 1993. In 2005, a further investment of USD 38 million supported the establishment of a gas appliance manufacturing base of around 150,000 m² in Fengxian, Shanghai, forming a key part of the local operation.

Guided by three priorities: comfort, energy saving, and health, Noritz China focuses on gas water heaters and heating boilers as its core business. A Japan-developed dry-installed floor heating system was later introduced to the China market, and the product portfolio has since expanded to include gas water heaters, wall-hung boilers, and kitchen appliances.

During gas water heater and heating boiler production, quality checks start at the component level and continue through assembly and final inspection. With close to 30 years of dedicated focus, the sales network now reaches five continents. Noritz China highlights strengths in combustion technology, dynamic constant-temperature control, and 360° intelligent protection, supported by advanced production lines introduced from Japan. The localization rate of parts is reported to reach up to 90%, and operations follow certified quality and environmental management systems, including ISO9001 and ISO14001. Energy-saving heating equipment continues to be developed to help reduce environmental impact risks, with the goal of supporting a comfortable warm-water lifestyle for users worldwide.

Milestones
1993
1993

Noritz officially entered the China market and, together with Shuixian, established the “Shuixian Noritz” brand. The CO-94CF became an early milestone model, introduced as a first-generation 9L flue-type gas water heater in China.

1996
1996

New technology was introduced for the China market with a first-generation three-stage flame-control gas water heater (CQ-107FE), model that enabled adjustable flame control. A safety initiative with the China Hardware Association also promoted the shift from direct-discharge units to forced-exhaust designs.

2000
2000

A wholly owned operation was set up in Shanghai, and Noritz developed its first constant-temperature gas water heater for the Chinese market. The CQ-1130FE water heater became one of the representative constant-temperature models at the time.

2007
2007

Noritz China began formal operations, supplying products to China, Japan, the United States, Canada, and Europe. The first-generation condensing gas water heater was also launched that year and was recognized as an officially licensed product for the China World Expo.

2014
2014

A 20L low-NOx D2 series voice-controlled water heater was introduced, marking the start of smarter water heater development, while the “Warmth for the home you love ” concept promoted healthier bathing and low-NOx, eco-friendly use.

2018
2018

A new hot-and-cold dual-control K series water heater was launched with a dual water-flow servo. Micro-flame combustion technology was also introduced, allowing the minimum temperature setting to reach 32°C.

2020
2020

The Art series water heater was released with a digital-printed artistic panel, bringing more customization through 3D printing. Noritz was also named among China’s enterprise standard leaders in the same year.

Noritz celebrated its 70th anniversary, with products and business presence across China, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, and Europe.

By integrating segmented combustion technology, dual water flow servos, and instant recirculation systems, our boilers achieve minimal flow rate activation, maintain 35°C summer output, operate at low noise levels, and prevent post-shutoff scalding. This differentiated approach positions us to target the premium market segment.
