In 2005, Noritz Corporation invested USD 38 million to build a modern gas appliance manufacturing base in Fengxian, Shanghai. The site covers around 150,000 m², with a total building area of 54,294.13 m². After a two-year construction period, the factory officially started production on July 18, 2007.

Today, the factory employs over 1000 people, runs 15 HVAC production lines, and has an annual capacity of around 1,000,000 gas appliances. Production serves major markets worldwide, covering domestic demand in China as well as exports to Japan, North America, and Europe. Besides serving customers in China, gas water heaters and other products are also supplied to Japan, North America, and Europe. Operations at the China facility follow a Japanese lean management approach. ISO9001 certification supports consistent processes from R&D through production to quality inspection.
